William Clair Esper, 78, of Kailua-Kona died April 15 at Hospice of Kona Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Dearborn, Mich., he was a bartender and U.S. Army veteran. Service with military and inurnment 9 a.m. Friday, May 27, at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. No known survivors. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Albert Akihiro Kami, 91, of Hilo died May 7 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Bank of Hawaii assistant vice president and served as in interpreter in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Service in occupied Japan. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by son, Mark Kami of Honolulu; daughter, Clarysse (Randal) Nunokawa of Hilo; brothers, Hideo (Tsuyuko) Kami and Ralph (Chiyoko) Kami of Hilo; brother-in-law, Kenneth Ota of Honolulu; sisters-in-law Masako (Edwin) Niitani, Shizuko Fukumoto and Sanae (Roy) Kunishima of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews. Bessie Kikuyo Nishikawa, 84, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Pearl City, Oahu, died Feb. 21 in Henderson. Born in Honaunau, she was a self-employed dress designer/maker and sewing teacher. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sunday, May 29, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu. Aloha attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, Alan (Lisa) Nishikawa of Pearl City and Brian Nishikawa of Henderson; daughter, Cyn (Peter) Fabry of Annandale, Va., sisters, Takiyo Tanaka and Tokiko Sakata of Kealakekua; two grandchildren.
