Albert Akihiro Kami, 91, of Hilo died May 7 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Bank of Hawaii assistant vice president and served as in interpreter in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Service in occupied Japan. Services held. Survived by son, Mark Kami of Honolulu; daughter, Clarysse (Randal) Nunokawa of Hilo; brothers, Hideo (Tsuyuko) Kami and Ralph (Chiyoko) Kami of Hilo; brother-in-law, Kenneth Ota of Honolulu; sisters-in-law Masako (Edwin) Niitani, Shizuko Fukumoto and Sanae (Roy) Kunishima of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews. Bessie Kikuyo Nishikawa, 84, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Pearl City, Oahu, died Feb. 21 in Henderson. Born in Honaunau, she was a self-employed dress designer/maker and sewing teacher.
